Transition to Employment Program

The Transition to Employment Program (T.E.P) works to develop employment preparedness and to provide skills training to individuals who are experiencing challenges to employment. In partnership with employment coaches and social agencies, SHARE Society offers the following opportunities:

  • In situ workplace assessments that provide up to 24 hours of exposure to numerous tasks within all areas of SHARE’s operations.  The goal of this option is to provide job coaches with a snapshot summary of their client’s skills and limitations

  • Work experience for up to 3 months that will further develop both the client’s awareness and the job coach’s understanding of their client’s interests, skills and challenges. This time is spent supporting the client in addressing their barriers in a safe and inclusive environment.

  • In partnership with wage subsidy programs, some clients are hired on with the goal of continuing to develop marketable employment skills.

  • Through the Canada, Summer Jobs program SHARE offers employment to youth with diverse abilities or experiencing other challenges

  • A cashier training program is offered to those requiring a structured approach to learning about money handling, processing sales through the till and POS systems, opening/closing procedures, as well as customer service (please refer to the DRIP program description).
